Requirements:

Senior Cognos 8.3 BI Architect to work on multiple projects for MD IT (refer to attached file for required skills)
* Expertise in dimensional/star data modeling using relational (3rd normal) data structures as the primary sources.
* Expertise in analyzing physical dimensional and star data models with the ability to identify, define and clearly communicate issues, and recommend possible solutions with pros/cons for each.
* Expertise in the various implementation methods with the ability to clearly explain the strengths and weaknesses of the different implementation methods relative to modeling, data definition, presentation, transformation and verification.
* Expertise in using Cognos 8.3 BI Framework Manager and be able to employ advanced DMR techniques to construct solutions supporting drill-up/drill-down and drill-through capabilities.
* Expertise in developing and testing advanced, complex, Cognos configurations.
* Expertise with Cognos 8.3 BI reporting tools (Query Studio, Analysis Studio, Report Studio, Metrics Studio, etc.).
* Experience with Cognos 8.3 PowerPlay and Transformer using the configurations defined within Framework Manager by a Cognos Architect.
* Ability to work autonomously.
* Ability to lead and provide direction to subordinate Cognos 8.3 BI Architects and Cognos 8.3 BI Developers.
* Extensive experience in working with Business Analysts to ensure business requirements are being met with the solution being developed.
* Extensive experience in working with a Data Architect to ensure business requirements are being met with the solution being developed.
* Experience in working with business users to define requirements and function as a Business Analyst should the need arise.
* Strength and conviction to raise concerns when appropriate and recommend viable solutions with area of expertise.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Ability and willingness to learn new sophisticated standards and techniques.
* Understanding of Total Cost considerations when building solutions.
* Must be a team player willing to work in conjunction with on-site Client team and other consultants.
Specific Qualifications Required (specialized skills, degrees, certification, etc.)
Cognos BI 8.3 certification highly recommended. Advanced experience with the Cognos BI 8.3 suite of tools, including but not limited to: Framework Manager, Report Studio, Query Studio, Analysis Studio, and Transformer.
